Lake-Effect Snow Blankets Western New York, Creating Hazardous Travel Conditions
Credit: Joseph Frascati
Script:
Parts of northwestern New York woke up to lake-effect snow showers on Monday, January 13, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
The agency issued alerts for Erie, Genesee, and Wyoming counties, cautioning residents about rapidly shifting weather conditions throughout the day.
This footage, captured by Joseph Frascati in Rochester near Lake Ontario, shows snow falling steadily on Monday morning.
The NWS warned that lake-effect snow bands would persist, potentially creating treacherous road conditions by the evening commute. Travelers are advised to exercise caution as the snowfall intensifies.
