A wild monkey rampaged into a shopping centre and attacked a customer in India.

The primate slipped through the mall and evaded staff members before lunging onto shoppers in Uttar Pradesh.

Footage shows the aggressive simian jumping onto a man's back before scrambling under aisles of clothes racks.

It then clung onto the head of a woman and clutched her hair. It left her when the other shoppers were scaring it away.

However, the monkey returned to terrorise her, trying to scratch her face.

It then pulled her shoe off and refused to let go despite men trying to drive it away.

The monkey then fled when it was being hunted with a cloth and climbed above the racks to avoid it.

A man told the scared shopper: 'Get up quickly. Run away.'

The shoppers used banana to lure it down, but it was smart and avoided them until it escaped from the building.
