Watch as Mercedes driver crashes into parked car and tree - then just drives off
This is the moment a Mercedes-Benz driver crashed into a parked car and a tree - before driving off as if nothing happened.
The driver is seen crashing into the stationary vehicle in front of Colin Aylward's home in Dagenham, east London in the early hours.
Mr Aylward, 52, said he hadn't been woken by the noise of the collision - but checked his cameras once he noticed the parked car closer than usual to his driveway.
The dad-of-one said: "The parked car has been taken now. It wasn't my car."
"It didn't wake me up. I found out [about the crash] because they were parked near to my drive. "
"That blue estate usually parks well away, but this time it was close to my dropped kerb. "
"I thought, 'That's unusual'. I was flicking through the camera footage and saw that the car jumped backwards at one point."
Mr Aylward says after noticing that the car's position changed overnight, he went back and found the footage of the collision.
And though he says there was 'a little bit' of damage to the parked car, he said white paint on a tree and the kerb shows the Mercedes likely came off worse.
"I think they did more damage to their car," Mr Aylward said. "
However, despite reporting the matter to the police, Mr Aylward claims the authorities were "not interested". "
He adds that this is often the case when he reports crimes - saying Dagenham has become dangerous and run down in recent decades.
