Fire fanned by strong winds erupts in Ventura County, California
Fires fanned by strong winds have erupted in Ventura County, California.
Firefighters, including teams from the Ventura County Fire Department, Oxnard Fire Department, and Ventura Fire Department, responded to the scene.
Teams of 75 volunteers used four water-dropping aircraft, including a Chinook and a Sikorsky Sea King.
The latest brush fire happened as southern California battled the Palisades Fire.
The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag warning and reported the Santa Ana winds, averaging between 20 and 30 miles per hour, are exacerbating the fire.
Local golf courses, with many ponds, are also being affected by the frequent water drops from choppers.
