Truck and bus collide killing three and injuring 15 in India
This is the shocking moment a truck and a bus collided, killing at least three and injuring 15 in India.
Authorities reported the devastating traffic incident occurred on National Highway 44 in Jadcherla town, Telangana, on Friday night, January 10.
Dramatic footage shows a JBT Travels bus, en route from Hyderabad to Arunachalam, crashing into a truck near Bhureddipalli in Jadcherla Mandal. The bus was reportedly carrying around 35 passengers.
Eyewitnesses stated that the coach, allegedly traveling at high speed, initially collided with a car, causing minor damage, before crashing into the stationary truck.
Aftermath video reveals the front of the bus severely crushed in the collision, resulting in the deaths of two passengers and the bus cleaner.
Residents helped transport the injured to Mahabubnagar Dawakhana for urgent medical treatment while emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene.
Authorities have launched an investigation and have cordoned off the collision site.
In another incident, a school bus overturned, killing a pupil and injuring 14 others in Kannur, Kerala, on January 1.
Authorities said the vehicle was transporting students home from Kurumathur Chinmaya School when the tragic incident occurred after school hours.
India has one of the highest rates of road accidents in the world, with thousands of fatalities and injuries reported each year.
The poor track record is blamed on unsafe road conditions, reckless driving, inadequate enforcement of traffic laws, and a lack of awareness about road safety.
