Golden Retriever looks guilty when confronted about mess
This is the amusing moment a Golden Retriever looked guilty when confronted about its mess.
The mischievous Goldie had shredded a pile of paper in its owner's bedroom, prompting its owner to scold the canine in Henan, China, on November 6.
Footage shows Ms Gao saying: 'Who did this?' while pointing at the mess. The dog responded by sulking and quietly lying down at a distance.
Ms Gao said: 'I had just gotten home from work and saw shredded paper everywhere. I knew right away she had torn up the fresh pack I opened. I couldn't be bothered to punish her—she must've been bored staying home alone, so I let it slide. I decided to play with her instead and noticed she reacted differently to my tone of voice. I found it amusing, so I recorded it.'
Research suggests that boredom or anxiety could drive dogs to rip up paper products if they lack sufficient enrichment opportunities.
