Police cover naked models used in food van's advertising posters and arrest owner
Police covered the naked models featured in a food van's advertising posters and arrested its owner in Thailand.
Tamarind vendor Sengiam Chaodorn was fined for displaying explicit images on his pickup truck in Isaan, Udon Thani, on Monday, January 13.
Local media reported that a medical professional from Ban Phue Hospital alerted authorities about the business, which was operated by a married couple in the health facility's car park.
When officers arrived, they found the fruit stand displaying large photos of nude and provocative models, with tape covering their private parts.
Sengiam explained that he had found the images online, printed them on vinyl, and attached them to his vehicle.
He added that his intention was to attract customers and that the photos had only been displayed for a few days before his arrest. He also stated that he would remove them if they were deemed illegal.
His wife, Supaporn, admitted that she had warned her husband about the images, but he insisted on using them as part of his sales strategy.
Authorities charged him with violating Section 388 of the Criminal Code, which addresses obscene acts in public. He was fined 2,500 baht (59 GBP).
Police removed 11 explicit photographs from the vehicle.
