This is the amusing moment a bed sheet escaped from an apartment and flew through the air in front of the neighbours.

The purple cloth was swept out of the open window of a resident's bedroom before it glided around like a parachute in Chonburi, Thailand, on January 14.

Footage shows the item soaring through the air like a giant kite when neighbour Sornmanee Anny Nasompon spotted it.

It hovered as the wind blew it further, reaching as high as the 20th floor.

After a few moments, it finally drifted down before being stuck on an electric cable below.

Sornmanee said: 'The guards removed the bed sheet and placed it in the lost and found. Hopefully, they find out who the owner is.'

Building staff members were alerted and removed the sheet hanging from the power lines.
