US: Massive Blaze Ravages San Bernardino Business Complex, Displaces Local Businesses
San Bernardino, United States - January 13, 2025 A destructive three-alarm fire tore through a cabinet manufacturing business in San Bernardino late Monday night, causing significant damage to the building and threatening nearby structures. The San Bernardino County Fire Department was called to the scene just after 11:15 p.m. near the intersection of G Street and Congress Street. A County Fire UAV equipped with a thermal camera confirmed a working fire inside a large commercial building within minutes of dispatch. Firefighters arrived to find the blaze rapidly spreading through the manufacturing facility, with immediate threats to an adjacent commercial strip mall. A second and third alarm were quickly called to support the growing incident. Firefighters initially focused on evacuating nearby structures while launching an aggressive interior attack. However, as the fire intensified and the building’s structural integrity was compromised, crews were forced to transition to a defensive strategy. The flames spread to neighboring businesses and an exterior storage area where hundreds of bales of vinyl products caught fire. The fire was finally brought under control after two hours of intense firefighting efforts. Due to the extensive damage to the primary building, an excavator was brought in to demolish the masonry walls for overhaul. Fortunately, winds, which had been picking up across the Inland Empire, did not affect the area, and no injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported. A total of 70 personnel from sixteen engine companies, three truck companies, one medic squad, and several chief officers responded to the scene. Loma Linda and Rialto Fire Departments assisted with additional engine companies. Although the primary building was declared a total loss, damage estimates are still being compiled, and the cause of the fire is under investigation by County Fire’s Office of the Fire Marshal.
