People of all ethnic groups in northwest China's Xinjiang have started rehearsing Shehuo performances for the Chinese New Year.

Xinjiang Shehuo, recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage, reflects the unique cultural characteristics of many local ethnic groups and is quite different from Shehuo performances in other parts of China. Its history dates back to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
