This is the heartwarming moment a stray dog with a fan tied to its neck was rescued by concerned locals.

Two kindhearted men spotted the hapless white pooch walking along the road, dragging the base of a fan stand, in Rayong, Thailand, on December 1.

Footage shows the rescuers approaching the seemingly terrified canine as they attempt to remove the object.

They worked to calm the dog during the rescue operation and, moments later, managed to catch it. Using a pair of scissors, they cut the rope around the animal's neck and removed the item.

After their laborious effort, the stray dog was able to walk freely again.

One of the rescuers said: 'We are glad that we were able to help the dog. It is very lucky because it also had no injuries.'
