This is the adorable moment a baby calms an anxious Golden Retriever with just one touch.

Dramatic footage by Ms Zhou shows the pet dog sitting at the edge of the bed while the toddler reaches out to touch it in their home in Tongshan, Xuzhou, Jiangsu, China, on May 13.

The canine gently leans forward, allowing the child to touch it.

Ms Zhou said: 'The Golden Retriever is truly so warm. It's the first time it's had close contact with its little owner.

'When the baby wanted to reach out and touch it, the dog slowly moved closer and gently placed its head on the edge of the bed, letting the baby pull at its fur without resisting.'

Golden Retrievers are considered one of the most intelligent dog breeds, ranking fourth in Dr Stanley Coren's canine intelligence rankings. This breed is known for being gentle, friendly, smart, affectionate, and outgoing.
