Police have charged 10 suspects with committing burglaries during the Los Angeles wildfires.

LA County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced the charges against the locals for alleged crimes committed during the devastation on Monday, January 13. These charges include felony residential burglaries, arson, and hit-and-run incidents.

Nine suspects face felony burglary charges related to incidents in Pacific Palisades and Altadena, while one individual is charged with arson for allegedly starting a fire in Azusa.

The District Attorney condemned these actions as an 'attack on our community during a time of unprecedented loss and vulnerability'.

Hochman added: 'These crimes are appalling. If you exploit this tragedy to prey on victims of these deadly fires, we will find you and we will prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.'

The investigation involved several agencies, including the LA County Sheriff's Department, the LA Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Hochman also emphasised the importance of enforcing curfews in affected areas to ensure public safety.
