How it started, how it's going! Pet dog fights with kitten at first before forming adorable friendship
A pet dog left the family's new kitten shaking in fright with this unfriendly welcome - but they soon became inseparable best friends.
The two-year-old Shih Tzu named Zuki treated the newly adopted kitten named Papay like an enemy intruding into their home.
Footage shows Zuki barking loudly at Papay as the feline cowered beside the pillow on the sofa. The other pooch, 12-year-old Zeru, also angrily growled at the moggy.
It took them a week before growing into each other and becoming the closest of cuddly friends.
Video captured a few days later shows Zuki and Papay hugging and tenderly rolling around on the floor together in Cebu, the Philippines.
Pet owner Hazel Nojo said: 'Papay used to be a stray before being adopted into our home. My two dogs did not like Papay at first but now they always play and sleep together. They are peaceful now.'
Hazel said the interactions between the two animals mimicked real-life interactions between humans - with people starting off on the wrong foot before getting to know each other and becoming friends.
She added: 'It reminds me of the internet meme, when people show how it started and how it's going. It's a real pet love story.'
