Tbilisi, Georgia - January 15, 2025 The Georgian opposition called a three-hour strike on Wednesday to demand new parliamentary elections and the release of those arrested in protests against the government's decision to suspend European Union (EU) entry negotiations. "Its objective is to show society what awaits Georgia in conditions of isolation" caused by the pro-Russian direction of the ruling Georgian Dream party, the opposition said in its call for the strike that starts at 3 pm local time (11:00 GMT).
