California, United States - January 16, 2025 Much of Southern California was under an elevated fire risk on Wednesday as the Santa Ana winds returned and were predicted to affect the area. The Palisades fire, one of the deadliest outbreaks, was 19 percent contained, devastating one of the most exclusive areas of the City of Angels, while the Eaton fire was 45 percent contained.
