US: Eaton Fire Devastates Los Angeles Area, 25 Dead, Thousands Forced to Evacuate

Los Angeles, United States - January 15, 2025 A horrifying video recorded on January 15 shows the aftermath of the Eaton Fire, which has devastated homes and properties in the Altadena area of Los Angeles. At least 25 people are believed to be dead, with more than a dozen still unaccounted for as the fire continues to rage. The Eaton Fire, part of a series of wildfires fueled by severe drought conditions and strong Santa Ana winds, has consumed 14,117 acres and is 45% contained. Approximately 7,081 structures, including vehicles, are believed to be damaged or destroyed. In total, the wildfires, including the Palisades Fire in Pacific Palisades, have forced thousands to evacuate and destroyed more than 12,000 structures across Southern California. The fire has tragically claimed 16 lives and caused injuries to at least five firefighters. Emergency response teams are working tirelessly to contain the blaze, but the situation remains dire as officials continue to assess the full extent of the damage.
