Scavenging crows rummaged through trash and a tourist's rucksack it found lying on a bench in Japan.

Footage shows the black bird perched on the chair's backrest before poking its beak inside the bag in Sapporo on January 5.

Another black bird was seen roaming on a rainy day with snow covering the street.

In a nearby area, a murder of crows was seen making a mess at a carpark with pieces of trash they took from the bin.

A Thai tourist saw them flying everywhere in the area and said locals warned them to be alert as the clever birds sometimes steal their belongings and food.

The notoriously aggressive carrion crows in Sapporo are a well-known part of the city's urban wildlife. The large-billed beasts are highly intelligent and have learned how to collect food from bins and steal lunch from locals.
