STORYLINE:

An international textile trade fair has kicked off in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka with the view of displaying cutting-edge technologies and products to global industry insiders.

The 23rd Dhaka International Yarn and Fabric Show is jointly organized by CEMS-Global USA and the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

The exhibition, one of the most established and leading international exhibitions focusing on yarn, fabric, trims and accessories, began Wednesday at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) and will continue until Saturday.

Over 325 exhibitors from around the world, deployed at the show's hundreds of booths, have displayed a wide range of fabrics including denim, knitted, woven, printed, and dyed fabrics, and showcased their products and technologies, offering industry insiders a one-stop sourcing platform for all aspects of their business.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): ZHANG TAO, Vice President of the Sub-Council of Textile Industry of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT TEX)
"As a key market for China's textile and garment industry, Bangladesh is also an important partner in our industrial and supply chains. We have always valued this market highly and are delighted to have this opportunity, just before the traditional Chinese Spring Festival, to bring together more than 200 Chinese enterprises showcasing their latest products. These companies are eager to collaborate with local Bangladeshi businesses, markets, and partners to expand business.
In our view, the Bangladeshi market is full of vitality, with a strong young labor force that forms a very good interaction with the upstream and downstream segments of Chinese industries. They look forward to Chinese enterprises bringing quality products, goods, and increased investment, creating more opportunities for the two countries' industries to collaborate and achieve shared growth."

SOUNDBITE 2 (Bengali): MEHERUN N. ISLAM, President and Group Managing Director of CEMS Global
"We started this exhibition in 2001, and every year, the number of exhibitors has been increasing. CCPIT Tex is connecting us with them in their new plans. Based on the number of visitors, exhibitors, and the interest from our partners, we are confident that this event will be as successful as ever.
I began working with China in 2006, and I'd like to share one of my experiences to explain why China has come so far. They are highly professional. Among all the exhibitors we have, Chinese exhibitors are some of the best - they focus solely on their work and stay uninvolved in anything else."
