January 16, 2025 The US space agency announced Thursday that two astronauts successfully completed a spacewalk to repair the International Space Station (ISS). During the six-hour mission, astronauts Suni Williams and Nick Hague replaced faulty light filters and reflectors, ensuring continued operational safety on the ISS. This marked Hague's fourth spacewalk and Williams's eighth. Another spacewalk is planned for next week. Williams, 59, has been aboard the ISS since June. Originally scheduled for just a week-long stay, her mission was extended due to technical issues with the Starliner spacecraft, which had transported her alongside astronaut Barry Wilmore. NASA now plans to return Williams and Wilmore to Earth in the spring using a Crew Dragon spacecraft.
