Fascinating footage shows how locals make chopsticks out of lengths of bamboo in Thailand.

The workers are seen in the video starting by portioning the mature stalks into desired sizes using a disc cutter.

They are then checked for quality using a hammer and sorted in another area in the backyard factory.

A woman manually cuts them and sends them for polishing before they can finally be loaded into a machine that turns them into sticks with uniform sizes.

The finished chopsticks are equal-length sticks. They are used as they are as disposable chopsticks while others and coated and painted with intricate designs.

The form of cutlery is used across Southeast Asia and the Far East for eating food, instead of knives and forks.
