A woman saved a spotted dove from her cat and released it back into the wild.

Footage shows the bird's attempt to escape from a balcony in Zamboanga City, the Philippines. However, it could not fly away because of the transparent glass railing.

Cherry Ann Yanson, who captured the video, found the stressed animal while her curious Persian cat attempted to charge at it.

Cherry tried to hold the bird, but her persistent cat continued to try to catch it. Carefully, she rested the dove on her hand and brought it to safety, away from her cats.

The comfortable bird sat still as she said: 'Go, fly high!'

The spotted dove is a small, long-tailed pigeon, a common resident breeding bird across its native range on the Indian subcontinent and in Southeast Asia.
