SOUNDBITE (French): SAIDOU DIALLO, Burkinabe expert on politics
"At this event, we proposed the creation of a regional investment bank. This bank will play a central role in financing all the development actions within the AES (Alliance of Sahel States) region. Additionally, we aim to create and establish a central purchasing agency. The idea behind this is to find ways to supply the AES region with strategic products such as maize, sugar, and rice. The discussions also focused on infrastructure issues -- how to create roads that will connect the entire Sahel region."
