Mexico - January 19, 2025 The clandestine tunnel discovered on Jan. 10 beneath the Rio Bravo river —connecting the border city of Ciudad Juárez with El Paso, Texas— could have been operating for up to two years, according to preliminary estimates by Mexican authorities. During a media tour led by the Mexican Army, Brigadier General José Salud Lemos of the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena) explained that the tunnel is nearly 300 meters long on the Mexican side alone.
