Washington, United States - January 19, 2025 TikTok stopped working in the United States on Saturday following the Supreme Court's decision on Friday to uphold a law passed by Congress, which required it to sever ties with its parent company, the Chinese ByteDance, or face closure. The platform, which has 170 million users in the US, sent many of its users a notification on their phones with the message: "Sorry, TikTok isn't available right now," attributing the suspension of operations to the legislation pushed by Congress.
