STORYLINE:

A group of 12 American youths and two teachers from Elon University in the U.S. visited the Chongqing Stilwell Museum in Southwest China on Friday.

The year 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Chongqing Stilwell Museum is named after Joseph Stilwell, a former U.S. general who helped the Chinese people in the fight against Japanese aggression during World War II.
   
Located in Stilwell's former residence in Chongqing, the museum houses abundant exhibits that serve as a reminder of the history and friendship between Chinese and American people during the war. It's the only museum in China named after a foreign military figure.

"I think the most impressive thing to me is learning about the history and life of General Stilwell. I think he was able to understand Chinese culture so well and become such an integral part and friend to the entire country during that time. I think it's something that isn't talked about a lot, at least from the American side. But it's truly an inspiration."
