Spain: One hundred flamenco cajones sound in unison in Callao at a 'cajoneada'
Madrid, Spain - January 19, 2025 Hundreds of madrileños and tourists have enjoyed a street concert this Sunday featuring a hundred flamenco cajones in the central Plaza de Callao, in a 'cajoneada' to honor this artisanal tradition and its evolution towards contemporary design.Organized by the Dimad Foundation, in collaboration with the Madrid City Council, as part of the 9th Ibero-American Design Biennial 2024 (BID 2024), in this musical experience, a hundred cajones have sounded, guided by various percussionists, blending with different Ibero-American rhythms and flamenco styles, accompanied by the feet and claps of the audience.
