Hydrogen balloon catches fire in Chinese restaurant
On December 29, 2024, in Shangqiu, located in central China’s Henan Province, a surveillance video captured a startling incident in a small restaurant.
A woman wearing pink, accompanied by two children, held a pink hydrogen balloon. Suddenly, the balloon ignited, causing a brief moment of chaos. The woman, believed to be the children’s mother or grandmother, quickly moved the younger child to safety.
Meanwhile, the older child showed quick thinking by fetching a basin of water to extinguish the burning balloon on the floor. The incident has raised awareness among Chinese netizens, who cautioned that hydrogen balloons are highly flammable and should be handled with care.
