Cows were covered in ice amid heavy snow in Canada at the weekend.

Footage captured by resident Blair Gilmore shows a herd of farm animals enduring harsh winter conditions, blanketed in fresh frost, on their farm near Kelwood on Friday, January 17, around 8 am.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issued a snowfall warning for a large area in central and northern Manitoba, including Flin Flon, Berens River, The Pas, and Oxford House.

The weather agency reported that snow was expected to begin falling on Thursday, with a total accumulation of 15 to 25 cm.

Cows can generally tolerate snow but they need shelter, food, and water to stay healthy in extreme cold conditions. Proper care ensures they remain safe in harsh winter weather.
