This is the impressive moment a pet crow learned how to speak with an oddly alluring husky growl.

Footage shows the intelligent black bird saying 'Hello' in the local language while being taught by its owner in Japan on November 17.

The two-year-old avian, named Happy can be seen in the video perched on a table, looking at the woman as he says the words repeatedly in Japanese.

Happy's proud owner said: 'My focus is on caring for my pet crow. I follow all of the local laws about keeping birds, so he is very comfortable and safe.

'He can say hello in Nihongo, our local Japanese language. He is clever and has excellent intuition. People are surprised at how deep his voice is, but it's real.'

Crows are highly intelligent birds with large brains relative to their body size. They are able to imitate voices because they have a well-developed voice box and are very social and communicative.

Viewers said the bird's raspy reminded them of celebrities known for their deep husky voice, such as Jeff Bridges, whose iconic gravelly voice became his trademark.

Known for his roles in films like 'The Big Lebowski', Bridges' distinctive tone lends an air of rugged charm and authenticity, much like the crow's unique growl, making his performances unforgettable.
