On January 17, around 3:50 PM in Linxiao County, Dingxi City, Gansu Province, a young boy's curious act led to a shocking incident. While playing on the street, he threw a lit firecracker into a roadside sewer manhole. The firecracker ignited accumulated methane gas inside the sewer, causing a powerful explosion that blasted two heavy manhole covers into the air.

The explosion's force hurled the boy several meters high before he crashed to the ground. Nearby shopkeepers, startled by the deafening blast, rushed out to assist, immediately calling emergency services.

The boy was quickly transported to the hospital and later transferred to Lanzhou for specialized care. According to local government officials, he is now out of danger.

1月17日下午3时50分许，甘肃定西临洮县，一名男童在街道上玩耍时，出于好奇心态，将一个点燃的爆竹扔进了路边的下水道窨井中。爆竹在下水道内引爆了积聚的沼气，产生了巨大的爆炸力，导致两个窨井盖被炸飞，同时冲击波将男童掀起数米高，然后狠狠摔落到了地上。

附近商家听到巨响后跑出店门查看，并迅速拨打了120急救电话，男童被及时送往医院接受治疗。

据当地政府部门消息，男童已转送到兰州的医院进行救治，并已脱离危险。
