A helicopter surveyed the Palisades Fire, with flames partially contained in California.

Terrifying footage shows the smouldering fire, which has burned more than 23,713 acres in the Los Angeles area as of January 18.

Cal Fire reported at least 6,051 structures destroyed, with 788 others damaged. By Monday, the blaze was 59 per cent contained. It has claimed at least 10 lives, with three civilians and one firefighter injured.

Evacuations remain for Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Brentwood, and Topanga, with mandatory orders affecting thousands.

Governor Gavin Newsom and local officials have mobilised resources to assist affected residents.

The California Health and Human Services Agency (CalHHS), working with local, state, and federal partners, provides food, water, shelter, and healthcare, including help with prescriptions, mental health support, and medical care.
