STORYLINE:
At least ten people died and 32 others were injured in a fire that erupted at a hotel in Türkiye's northwestern Bolu province on Tuesday, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on social media X.
The fire broke out at a hotel in the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Resort around 3:30 a.m. local time (0030 GMT) on the restaurant floor, said Governor Abdulaziz Aydin, adding that "two of the fatalities resulted from individuals jumping from the building in panic."
According to the NTV broadcaster, the cause of the fire remains unclear, but the flames rapidly engulfed the hotel situated at the summit of the Koroglu Mountains.
Upon receiving the alert, fire crews, search-and-rescue units and medical teams were dispatched from the city center, surrounding districts, and nearby areas.
"Fire intervention continues," said Aydin.
The hotels in the area were particularly crowded as schools were on their semester break.
