A safety net saved a worker who plunged from the 13th floor of a building in India.

The labourer, 26, reportedly attempted to take his own life twice by jumping from an under-construction structure in Vikhroli, Mumbai, on January 14.

Heart-stopping footage shows the man hanging from the net installed in the building.

Reports say the construction worker, experiencing mental distress, jumped from the 13th floor but became caught in the net on the 8th floor.

Onlookers urged him to climb back up, but instead, he jumped again, landing in another net from the 3rd floor.

He then fell into a safety mesh held by workers below, who managed to rescue him.

Authorities said he escaped without any injuries.

Officials have coordinated his safe transport back to his home city, Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, with assistance from his fellow workers.
