Gaza Strip - January 19, 2025 A large number of displaced residents from Gaza Strip have begun returning to their homeland after the first stage of Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement came into effect in Gaza on Sunday. One of the largest refugee camps in the region, Jabalia Camp, located in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, has been among the areas most frequently and severely targeted by Israeli air-strikes over the past year. Following the withdrawal of Israeli forces from communities in northern Gaza, thousands of residents are hoping to return to this area after more than a hundred days of displacement. Yet, their former homes have now been reduced to rubble. Due to a lack of transportation, many have chosen to travel by horse-drawn carts or even on foot. Upon their return, they find that the smoke of conflict has not yet cleared, and the places they once knew have changed beyond recognition. Upon returning to the refugee camp, many were seen excitedly waving Palestinian flags to celebrate with others struggling to locate their homes among the rubble and search for usable items. What else can we do?"; [SHOT OVERLAYING SOUNDBITE] 3. Various of displaced residents returning home with belongs, destroyed buildings; [SHOT OVERLAYING SOUNDBITE] 4. Man waving Palestinian flag; 5.
