This is the shocking moment a bungling BMW driver ran himself over with his own car.

The man was driving through a narrow path with scooters parked on the side when he decided to step out of his vehicle to remove a two-wheeler blocking his way in Yunnan, China, on November 11.

Dramatic CCTV footage shows the black sedan manoeuvring on its own as the car owner walks in front of it. Moments later, the vehicle ran over his leg and hit the scooter.

Upon seeing this, passersby immediately helped him get up while his car continued to roll forward.

One of the locals then ran over and pulled the handbrake to prevent the car from moving further.

After the incident, residents fixed the scooter together and parked it properly.

The driver reportedly did not sustain any serious injuries from the incident.
