A cyclist was knocked over and dragged by a truck but miraculously survived with only minor injuries in Brazil.

The truck driver was manoeuvring and making a turn in Sector 5, Guajara-Mirim, Rondonia, when he hit the rider on Tuesday afternoon, January 21.

Shocking CCTV footage shows the moment the cyclist was struck and violently dragged for around 20 metres by the truck.

Local media reported that the truck driver only realised he had collided with the cyclist after hearing a noise and spotting the victim lying on the ground in his rearview mirror.

He then quickly stopped and checked the victim who was conscious and remained seated on the sidewalk until fire department personnel arrived to assess him and take him to the regional hospital.

Authorities confirmed he did not suffer serious injuries.
