DAVOS WEF AIR PATROL , SWISS AIRFORCE FIGHTER PLANES LAND AND TAKE OFF AT SION AIRPORT
Currently the World Economic Forum WEF is happening in Davos Switzerland.
Swiss Airforce fighter jets F/A 18 HORNET are patrolling the skies. Usually they would do so from Payerne airforce base but because of intense fog they use Sion airport in Valais canton in the Alps.
here are scenes of airplanes taking off and landing at Sion airport.
this is certainly a great moment for plainspotting...
Sion airport used to be a major base for swiss airforce but they only use it now for special events when the weather is bad in Payerne or other airforce bases. In winter actually Payerne often gets fog .
