The former BDR members were serving sentences in the explosives case linked to the BDR mutiny at Dhaka's Pilkhana, the headquarters of the then Border Guard Force Bangladesh Rifles (BDR), in which 74 people, including 57 army officers, were killed on 25 and 26 February 2009.
