A flock of sheep blocked a road in rural China.

Hundreds of hoofed animals crossed the highway, causing cars to stop in Shenyang, Liaoning, on January 13.

Dashcam footage shows the sheep walking in a line, taking their time to move to the other side while no vehicles are in sight.

Upon seeing this, the driver patiently waited for the animals to cross.

However, moments later, after crossing halfway, they seemingly realised they had gone in the wrong direction, prompting them to turn around and head back to the other side of the field.

Sheep exhibit strong 'flocking' behaviour, meaning they naturally congregate in large groups for safety and protection, as they are prey animals, and staying together provides a defence mechanism against predators.
