This was the terrifying moment a KLM flight from Amsterdam to Birmingham's BHX International Airport came close to disaster.

Extreme 50mph crosswinds buffeted the aircraft from side to side as is approached Birmingham International Airport on Friday 24 January.

The pilot from KLM skilfully brought the plane in, despite being buffeted on approach.

As the aircraft was just moments from touching down, it was caught by a gust of wind and shifted towards the side.

Storm Èowyn has hit The United Kingdom and the whole Island of Ireland reaching speeds of over 110mph. Belfast and Dublin airports were severely affected.
