STORYLINE:

Known as one of the smelliest flowers in the world, the corpse flower in Sydney's Royal Botanical Gardens, called Putricia, has started to bloom since the Thursday afternoon, the first time in 15 years.

Hundreds of visitors have patiently waited in line for up to three hours just to catch a whiff of this unusual bloom. The flower, famous for its pungent aroma of rotting flesh, remains in full bloom for only about 24 hours and can take several hours to fully unfurl. It's likely to be years before this plant flowers again, making the event even more special.
