Telangana, India - January 24, 2025 In a crackdown on drug trafficking, the excise police seized 180 pounds (82 kg) of Cannabis worth $116,029 from a car and two smugglers arrested during the operation. The smugglers were arrested at a check post in Bhadrachalam town, in southern India’s Telangana on January 24. Visuals show the Prohibition and excise officials and accused in front of the car with seized drugs in bags. The officials show a secret compartment in the vehicle behind the seats where the smugglers hid the cannabis packed in a plastic cover. The police are recovering multiple packages and emptying the compartment. According to sources, the excise-enforced team seized the drugs successfully as they were alerted about the illegal transporting. They conducted a thorough inspection of the car and caught 180 pounds of drugs estimated to be $116,029 (RS 1,00,00,000). The officials arrested two people and seized the car along with their cell phones.
