West Bank - January 25, 2025 The Palestinian Prisoners' Commission (PPSMO) has released the list of 200 imprisoned Palestinians to be freed by Israel on Saturday as part of the second Hamas hostage exchange in Gaza, of whom 120 were sentenced to life imprisonment. Camera: MAGDA GIBELLI. FOOTAGE OF THE OFER PRISON AND ISRAELI ARMY VEHICLES, AS WELL AS THE RAMALAH RECREATION CENTRE, WHERE RELATIVES OF PALESTINIANS WAIT FOR INFORMATION ABOUT THE DETAINEES. SOUNDBITES TRANSLATIONS: Ameen Shoman, head of the Commission for Prisoners and Prisoners in the West Bank. 1.- 200 Palestinian prisoners will be released today. 120 were serving life sentences and the rest, 80, have spent a long time in prison. 2.- Most of the prisoners will be handed over to Egypt this afternoon or evening. 80 will be received here (Ramallah), they will be transferred from Ofer prison to this site in International Committee of the Red Cross buses. The Palestinian people in general and the families of the Palestinian prisoners are very happy because these prisoners have spent decades of their lives in Israeli prisons. 3.- But there will be no celebrations in the West Bank in solidarity with the people of Gaza, because of the destruction and the tens of thousands of martyrs who died in the genocide. The feeling of joy is mixed with concern for what has happened to our people in the Gaza Strip. I have friends who were in prison with me and they will be released today. 4.- I was imprisoned several times, without charges and based on secret accusations. Now there are 3,600 Palestinian prisoners in pre-trial detention without charge. [Restrictions: Spain, Latin America, or the U.S. Hispanic market]
