Life's a beak! Heron surfs river swells on fallen tree branch
Life is a beak for this shore-footed heron - as it surfs river swells on a broken tree branch.
The white bird was seen perched on a makeshift raft of leafy sticks that it found drifting along the water in Bangkok, Thailand, on January 20.
Footage shows the heron smoothly swaying with the ripples while riding the makeshift board.
Its long legs bent with every surge to keep itself from falling when the tide became stronger.
Onlooker Panchanit Damkliang said: 'The bird looked like a very cool surfer. It did not even gaze over to us. It was fully engrossed in its extreme bird sport.'
