Angler catches mutant 'Beavis and Butthead' fish in China
An angler caught a mutant 'Beavis and Butthead' fish in China.
Mr Wang was fishing in a river when he captured a strange-looking Tilapia fish in Wenshan, Yunnan on August 19.
Footage shows the man looking at the creature up close before throwing it back into the water.
He said: 'It was my first time to encounter that kind of fish. It looked so scary.'
Poor water quality, including elevated ammonia or nitrite levels, can stress fish, making them more susceptible to infections and physical abnormalities like lip swelling.
The fish's unusual appearance drew comparisons to a hit satire and black comedy, 'Beavis and Butt-head.'
Beavis and Butt-head, created by Mike Judge, debuted on March 8, 1993, as an animated sitcom featuring two dim-witted high schoolers providing humorous commentary on music videos.
The show was revived in 2011 and moved into satirical videos and pop culture, including icons like Lady Gaga and MTV shows such as Jersey Shore.
