SOUNDBITE (English): MARILINE GOODHUE, Canadian dancer
"My name is Mariline Goodhue. I've been a dancer, choreographer and teacher for a very long time. I really have a passion for dance and I want to share it with everyone. I'm so happy to be spending the New Year here in a city that I love.
We had a performance yesterday and this was my dream come true, because I was able to choreograph a full ballet. So now it's time to rest for the Chinese New Year. We can have a big rest and we want to stay in Dongguan.
I think Dongguan has a beautiful culture. I always see the red lanterns in the streets. I think that the people here really understand how to live their lives. I want to give what I know to the people here, because I come from Canada and it's different. And I think that if we mix with the Chinese environment what I know from ballet and arts in the Western world, I think it could give something beautiful.
I'm really excited to spend the New Year in Dongguan, relaxing with my husband. I'm sure we will go to amazing places to eat and to relax.
I want to wish you a happy Chinese New Year.
Happy New Year!
Wish you great fortune and good luck!"
