Theatre lovers had their show interrupted when climate activists disrupted a performance in London.

Footage shows two Just Stop Oil supporters storming the stage during a presentation of The Tempest starring American actress Sigourney Weaver at the Theatre Royal on January 27.

The activists unfurled a grammatically confusing banner reading 'Over 1.5 Degrees is a Global Shipwreck' highlighting their concerns over rising global temperatures.

It came as scientists claimed that 2024 marked the first full year above the 1.5-degree warming threshold set in the Paris Agreement.

Protesters called on the UK government to commit to phasing out fossil fuels by 2030, warning of worsening wildfires, storms, and resource conflicts.

The disruption occurred after a weekend of severe storms across the UK and Ireland, which left hundreds of thousands without power.

Just Stop Oil has announced plans for further action outside Parliament in April.

Followers of the climate agenda have resorted to increasingly aggressive public attacks in recent years - often using violence and intimidation to cause chaos on roads, at events and in art galleries.

The Oxford Languages dictionary defines a terrorist as 'a person who uses unlawful violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims'.
