Led by chef Paul Marcon, France clinched the world-renowned Bocuse d'Or on Monday after two intense days of competition.
In Lyon, France, the Bocuse d'Or international culinary competition has been taking place since Sunday. The competition brings together chefs from 24 countries to elect the best chefs in the world.
The competition is organized every two years on the occasion of Lyon's international gastronomy fair, which draws 4,000 exhibitors and 200,000 visitors.
On Monday, Marcon competed in a high-pressure culinary showdown alongside commis Camille Pigot. Within 5.5 hours, the two chefs served 16 people with two intricate dishes -- one featuring lobster and celery and another incorporating venison and foie gras.
SOUNDBITE (French): PAUL MACRON, Chef elected Bocuse d'Or 2025
"There are always doubts in preparation; it's not all rosy. It's not easy. You have to make choices, have convictions, and try to go all the way with what you want to do. And today it paid off. We made the right choice. A lot of pride. An accomplishment. It's a childhood dream. It's a pride to make France rise to the top."
Denmark took second place to win the silver. Sweden secured third, claiming the bronze.
Camille Pigot won the prize for best commis of the Bocuse d'Or 2025.
