Protest Against Oil Lobby Apocalypse Theatrics theatrical protest in London
Three women silenced by Scold’s Bridles, medieval torture devices once used to suppress outspoken women, set against a backdrop symbolising the world burning due to the oil industry’s greed and destruction. This intervention highlights the suppression of climate justice advocates and criticises the collusion between governments and fossil fuel companies.
The protest also condemns Lord Walney’s role as an oil lobbyist influencing the judiciary, exposing a dangerous alliance between corporate interests and those meant to serve justice. Created by Apocalypse Theatrics, Sophie Miller, and Rob Higgs of Ocean Rebellion, the event calls for the protection of the jury system and the freedoms it upholds from corporate interference.
